World’s First Indoor Long Shot Curling Competition
Kenzen Long Shot

Richmond, BC (November  5, 2009) – How far could you throw a curling rock if there was no back board to stop it?  Curlers will have the chance to find out this month when curling takes over the Richmond Olympic Oval for a one day, once in a lifetime opportunity. Curlers can buy tickets ($20) for the opportunity to throw one curling rock as far as they can down the Richmond Olympic Oval speed skating ice. Equipment will be available for non-curlers who would also like to participate.

The ice length will be approximately 400 feet long, which is roughly four times the length of a regular sheet of curling ice. Participants will compete in one of eight categories with prizes being awarded to the competitor in each category who throws the rock the farthest.
