On April　29, 2012, the Government  of Japan announced the recipients of its Spring Decorations.

In British Columbia, Mr. Mitsuo Hayashi, Chairman of  the Nikkei National Museum & Cultural Centre is awarded the Order of the  Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays for his contribution to the social welfare of  the Japanese Canadian community and the Japanese.

A conferment ceremony will be held on June 6th, in Vancouver
