Okada Appreciation “Iron Chef” event and dinner

Canada-Japan Society of British Columbia members and guests joined March 3, 2016 in a unique culinary event and dinner event to honour Consul General of Japan in Vancouver, Seiji Okada and Mrs. Okada. As Honourary Chair of the Society, Consul General Okada has contributed to the advancement of trade and investment opportunities between Japan and British Columbia. He has also showed a deep interest in Canada’s educational and cultural sectors.

Consul General Okada is a connoisseur of food, from growing vegetables in the garden of the Official Residence and locally in the Fraser Valley, to his rice fields in Tsukuba, Japan.  All who have come to know him are aware of Consul General Okada’s keen interest in all aspects of food, it’s production, preparation, presentation and enjoyment. The evening was enjoyed by all, and a fitting tribute to the Consul General.
