Become a Member

The Canada-Japan Society of British Columbia (CJSBC) is proud to represent a diverse and accomplished membership base. Most of our members are senior executives from leading Japanese and Canadian companies operating in Vancouver—organizations that drive the majority of trade and commerce between our two nations.

In addition, we are supported by legal and accounting firms with dedicated Japan teams, and by major universities and colleges across the Lower Mainland. Our membership currently includes roughly 250 individuals, with Canadian members outnumbering Japanese members by about two to one.

CJSBC maintains reciprocal membership privileges with:

  • The Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Japan (CCCJ)
  • The Japanese Business Association of Vancouver (Konwakai)
  • The Vancouver Mokuyokai Society

We also maintain strong relationships with other like-minded organizations throughout Canada and Japan.

CJSBC offers four categories of membership:

Individual
Membership

For professionals who want to participate and engage individually

Corporate
Membership

Includes up to five representatives

Memberships are transferable within the company, with board approval

$325

Youth/Student
Membership

For students or young professionals
Volunteer participation required

$50

Retired
Membership

For individuals no longer in the workforce who wish to remain active in the community.

$35

All memberships include attendance at Society events and the right to vote at General Meetings.

Dues include 5% GST (CJSBC GST# 139057855)
